Mac book is the first choice of most of the people who crave for notebooks. But due to the complexities and the very high price of the Mac book people switch to some other notebooks. Mac shield is the most up-to-date fake anti-virus program. It is developed by the developers of Mac malware. Mac shield re-directs the users to adult website and tells them that their machine is infected by malware. It asks for Mac Defender to remove all the issues but asks for the credit card or other confidential information. Mac Shield needs to be removed in order to keep your Mac book safe.
Avoiding Mac Shield:
If you find any virus alert, close the browser as it might sometimes automatically download and install the malicious application. If it installs the application, close the installation and do not enter your admin password. The installer needs to be removed and for removing it you need to follow some steps.
1. Go to the download folder, the downloaded files are stored.
2. Delete the installer.
3. When deleted, the file is moved to trash. Now empty the trash folder.
Manually Remove Mac Shield:
If the malware is already installed, remove it with the help of following steps:
1. Close the scan window
2. Move to Applications and then to Utilities and open Activity Monitor.
3. Select All processes from the pop up menu.
4. Locate the application name under Process Name column.
5. Now Click Quit Process and click quit.
6. Close the Activity Window now.
7. Now Open the activity window and search for Mac Defender.
8. Drag then to trash and empty the trash.
Now, malware also installs a login menu, you can delete it from the enhanced security. It is not necessary to remove the login menu. In order to remove login menu created by Mac Shield, follow the steps:
1. Go to System Preference and click On Accounts.
2. Now go to Login Items and search for Mac Defender and click minus (-) button.
Now you have successfully uninstalled Mac Shield.
