The first and foremost thing you need to take care of in order to get a great swing you need to practice regularly. But practice in the correct way so that that your swing is effective. There are few things to be taken care of while practicing a perfect swing.
1.       Stance: A perfect stance one of the most important features in order to get a perfect swing. A good and upright stance will give you space in order to move your hands and legs keeping you in control and relaxed. A relaxed and calm mind is very highly necessary to make the perfect decision.
2.       Load: While preparing for a huge shot in baseball, when the momentum is gathered on the rear leg, it is called as the load. There are various positions on how different hitters gather the momentum. The hitters may load with a toe tap or a normal stride or any other way that makes the hitter comfortable can be used for a killer load.
3.       Separation:  Once the load is complete, the next step for a better swing is separation. It is the point of time when you get the first glimpse of the ball out of the pitcher’s hand. Separation is very essential to gather torque so that the shot gains maximum value. Separation is that moment in hitting when the hands go on the back side to gather bat speed.
4.       Weight Shift: When the front toe lands on the ground with the heels still in air, separation ends and the shifting of weight and rotation starts. In this step the momentum of the body and bat goes towards the pitcher. The front leg should be firm and it should not allow the bodyweight to shift to the front limb. This is the last stage where you can get time to adjust to the tricky pitches.
5.       Decide And Release: After all the hard work it is the time to deliver. Try to hit the ball as hard as possible rather than just making a contact to the infielder and getting into trouble. It is always better to miss a ball while swinging rather than hitting a weak ground ball.

Hitting a better swing is not always a daunting task but if you keep your basics right and follow the five tips for a better swing, you can definitely hit the 450 foot homerun. But do keep in mind that every ball will not be a homerun. Do remember the pitcher is also there to give you a fight.
